I paint as a creative outlet to worship my Creator. My paintings allow me to share what I experience in nature with others. Most of my paintings and artworks revolve around nature since I find nature to be a pure and unending source of subject matter that I can use to express the spiritual. In each, however, I am most concerned with capturing nature isolated from human elements in order to allow the viewer to feel a sense of discovery, awe, and solitude.
I currently live in Fairfield, California with my husband. I earned my BFA in Pictorial Art at San Jose State University. Before studying art, I had gone to a couple of ministry training schools believing that I would find my purpose in being an international missionary, however, what I discovered was that my dream involved a much more creative ministry than a bible college could provide me training for. For several years I was actively involved with the Art Ministry at PBCC Church in Cupertino. This ministry allowed me to be mentored by more mature artist, lead workshops, and teach art to kids. I currently lead a weekly small group meeting mentoring fellow creatives at the Father's House Vacaville. |
