In most of my art pieces I intentionally exclude human figures or buildings since I try to convey nature untouched.  By creating landscapes that evoke a sense of isolation, viewers can experience nature as one discovering it for the first time.  My objective in presenting nature in this way is to inspire people to see nature through new eyes and a renewed sense of awe when they travel outdoors.

For inspiration, I use personal reference photos that I have taken while traveling (primarily in California) or I take my art supplies outdoors to paint or draw.  In this way, my art always has direct connections to a particular place and my personal experience.
